Jibb V2 LT "True All-Rounder" RAAW of the Month November

In this edition of the RAAW of the Month series, we’re spotlighting Georg’s Jibb V2 LT—a bike built to handle it all, from flowing trails to challenging alpine routes and even the occasional day in the bike park. With its rugged build, Georg has created a true all-rounder that performs beautifully on any terrain.

Georg, originally from Carinthia, discovered his passion for mountain biking early on, though he took a long break before reigniting that love in Innsbruck. After moving to the alpine city, he essentially relaunched his two-wheeled journey—and hasn’t looked back since. As a geologist, Georg travels extensively across Austria, often with his bike in tow to explore new trails in his free time. Over the years, he’s owned both trail and enduro bikes, but when his girlfriend started using his trail bike more often, he decided it was time for a single, versatile setup.

“I wanted a reliable bike I could use for everything,” Georg explains. Around that time, the Jibb V2 LT had just launched, and the choice was an easy one. “I needed a bike I could take on work trips—one that could handle cross-country laps as well as the occasional day in the bike park. Plus, I’ve always loved RAAW’s signature, clean look.” With 160 mm of front travel and 140 mm in the rear, the Jibb V2 LT aims to hit the sweet spot between climbing capability and downhill performance. “90% of my riding is on our local trails, but I don’t want to hold back in the bike park just because I’ve chosen a bike that’s good for pedaling.”

Georg opted for a size M frame, even though, at 182 cm, he’d fit well on an L. But for him, maximum agility is key—especially on the tight, technical trails around Innsbruck. With a 50 mm Level 9 stem and a slightly shorter geometry than the Madonna, the bike feels particularly playful and nimble in fast, twisty sections. “I enjoy variety—from flowing trails and jump lines to technical alpine segments,” he says of his riding style. “That versatility keeps things exciting.” To that end, Georg has experimented extensively with different wheel sizes, switching between a full 29” setup and a mullet configuration, eventually settling on the larger rear wheel.

When building up his Jibb, Georg focused on durability, easy maintenance, and solid value for money. Many components came from his previous bike, like the 2020 RockShox Lyrik Ultimate fork. Originally designed for 27.5-inch wheels, Georg cleverly sourced 29-inch lowers to make the fork compatible with the larger wheels—a smart move!

At the rear, Georg runs a pre-owned RockShox Super Deluxe Ultimate Coil shock, chosen for its bottom-out control—ideal for hard landings on technical trails. Recently, he upgraded to Roval Traverse HD carbon wheels. Not only are they robust, but they also cut down on maintenance since he now needs to true his wheels far less often.

Georg rides Continental Kryptotal FR tires with Enduro casing (of course, tubeless) for the grip he needs on the steep, alpine trails around Innsbruck. His high-rise 50 mm handlebars keep the front end elevated, offering extra stability on steep sections. For the drivetrain, Georg relies on SRAM’s GX Eagle components for the derailleur, shifter, and cranks, while the cassette and chain are from the X01 Eagle series. Burgtec’s Penthouse MK5 pedals provide solid footing, and powerful TRP DH-R brakes with 200 mm rotors front and rear ensure reliable stopping power.

Georg loves to ride his bike smoothly and with flow, always choosing the most fluid line—even if it’s not the fastest—and seizing any chance for airtime.

Over the past months, Georg has checked off some classic routes around Innsbruck and taken the Jibb on alpine bike-and-hike adventures. His highlight of the year? A trip to the Aosta Valley and La Thuile, where he found perfect conditions for his descents. And with a bit of luck, next year might include the Trans-Madeira race—a setting where his Jibb LT is sure to feel right at home.

Georg’s Jibb V2 LT embodies what RAAW is all about: durability, easy maintenance, and versatility. He’s built a bike that handles it all, from cross-country laps to alpine enduro adventures. His component choices, like the Roval carbon wheels and robust suspension, make this bike a true workhorse, ready for any adventure.
