Catching up with Jack Reading and the team at Phoenix Gravity Park

Gravity School Racing has been busy as in the pre-season. The guys put in hundreds of laps at the Phoenix Gravity Park, Portugal, aboard their Yalla race bikes. There's no substitute for time on a big bike and the team's racing season started early on in March.

The park is the brainchild of Jack Reading, the bossman of the team, as a place to cultivate racing talent. It gave him, and the team, a blank canvas to prepare tracks, racing scenarios and an all-around environment that helps budding races in their off-season preparation, when most of the European World Cup-level tracks are under a thick layer of snow.

At the opening rounds of the Portugal Cup, Jack walked away with two wins in the Elite category, while Nui Tai took a win in the under-17 category.

Back in the UK, the team has also been performing well, with podium finishes in the junior, expert and elite categories at the Fort William British Nation Round.

Seb Sumner is having a grand season so far, finishing 3rd at the British National and then going on to fight in the mud and dust at the first two rounds of the World Series in Poland and France. Seb narrowly missed out on the qualifying cut-off, placing 24th and 25th in those first two rounds, tantalisingly close to the magical 20th position.

He heads into the Leogang World Series round chomping at the bit and keen to find the pace to make it through to the finals.

The whole Gravity Racing team heads into the summer block of racing absolutely frothing to push for more podiums and race wins across all categories. You'll find the team and their race-ready Yalla!! V2s at the European Downhill Cup series, British and Portuguese National Championships, Whistler Crankworx and the mighty Megavalanche.
