Jibb V2 LT - The best of both worlds

Debated for many months over a Madonna V3 or a Jibb V2. I enjoy a varied mixture of riding; steep rough gnarly trails, flowy fast trail riding, even some long days pedaling through rolling XC trails in the Canadian Rockies and interior BC. I wanted something that could fit that mix of my riding preferences without switching between 3 different bikes day to day, as 60-70% of my riding is in that blue / black enduro / trail section of the MTB world.
When I learned of the LT version of the Jibb V2 with 160/141 I was convinced this would be that great balance I needed in a bike, or I thought anyways...still unsure after many years on a 170/170 or 170/160 enduro.
So I took the risk and ordered it. Started procuring the parts needed to build my mini enduro trail ripper and built it up.

First ride at the local towns mini flow trail park. For some context, I generally dislike these local trails as i find them tame, poorly built and with a sandy loamy round rock soil that doesn't always ride well, but unthaws quickly after our Canadian winters. Almost instantly on the first run, i knew i made the right choice, smooth, FAST, grippy, quiet and buttery. Pedaled so well on the short punchy climbs.
I knew if it felt good here, it had to be amazing on proper trails, right??
A few weeks later and many more rides on proper Rocky mountain trails, and i am more in love than before.
Smooth, fast, blasting through rough, rocky descents, but still flows well on tamer trails and supportive in the climbs, so surprisingly playful and fun, just so good.
If you are like me and was worried the Madonna will be too much bike for everything besides the 10% of super aggressive trails or bike park days on you rides and the standard Jibb is just a bit too light on the travel for what you are wanting out of a bike.
Seriously consider the Jibb V2 LT. You won't be disappointed, truly the best of both worlds and very excited to ride this bike, race this bike and put many hours and Km's on it this summer and know Raaw's quality and design, many years moving forward of riding.
Thanks Raaw, keep up the good work

Jibb V2: a scalpel for the steep country I live

I bought the Jibb V2 after a long online research and multiple comparisons (but it's part of the pleasure and the processus, don't you agree?). Owning a Commençal Meta SX V4, a Marin Alpin Trail E2 and a Cotic Solaris MAX, I wanted something in between: full sus, for sure, but not a sledge like the Commençal and the Marin.

I wanted a bike that could really go down anything, but that could also go up and not feeling heavy like a dead donkey (french expression). I think the Jibb is the perfect tool for that. It's giving confidence on the descents that I ride - again: steep, technical, rocky chunky stuff, but is very capable uphill. My project was to use clipless pedals again... ;)

And the Jibb V2 rocks!

Theres a lot of XC bikes out there. Some of them are quite exciting, on steroids if you want, capable to go downhill, but most of them are internal routed carbon frames, that you ride in fear of scratching them or breaking them. And: they are mostly conceived to go uphill (weight shaving -> fragility). I wanted the mini enduro feel, the aluminium durability, and long days in the saddle.

The Jibb is on the heavy part of the spectrum, but ... heavy is reliable. And it has 29er wheels. First I was skeptical (owning two mullets) but after 300 km I must admit: I now understand Ruben's enthusiasm for the 29 inch wheels. In the descents, the only thing you notice will be your bottom rubbing against the rear wheel reminding you the size of the wheelset - but in the uphills, you'll find yourself flying over technical bits.

The Jibb V2 is well balanced (for me), is very precise in the downhills - a scalpel -, even sometimes forgiving. I don't feel it "jibby" though, but for me it is jibby enough in comparison with my other bikes. I'm very happy with the bike.

Another thing to consider: the raaw website is very well done. A lot to read, useful infos. For me, it's a must to sell bikes - especially frames, because you want to know every details.

And last point: the Jibb V2 is a beauty. Choose raw aluminium.

Capable & Fun

After owning a Madonna V2, I was looking for a bike that pedalled better and felt more playful on the trail, this bike delivers on both fronts while still charging hard on the descents.

I've even put it through multiple days in the bike park, and I have yet to find something it can't handle. It climbs like a dream, shreds on the way down, and brings pure fun to every ride.

If you're looking for a bike that balances efficiency and capability, I 100% recommend this one
