February 2025
School is back in session for 2025 and Finding Speed is back for Season 2.
For the 2025 downhill season, the team has seen a lot of changes. Familiar riders are joined by exciting new racers in a bigger team roster, new faces are on hand to help the team out in the multitude of facets that a development program needs and the Racing Centre base in Portugal even sees an expansion with new tracks for the team to test and train on.
In episodes 1 and 2, the team gets together for their first team camp of the season. Gravity School Racing is exactly what it says on the tin, a school for these up-and-coming riders of all age categories to learn and progress in racing. The team camps, as well as their individual developments, centre heavily around a racing environment and as such, the riders spend plenty of time making their downhill bikes feel like a second home and the pressure of the clock their friend rather than foe.
But it’s not all serious work, as the team lets their hair down with some high-octane go-karting, both on and off-road, as well as some redecorating of their fellow team members with paintballing. There’s a sense of family instilled in the riders and the camaraderie between them is immense. Freezing your teammate's shoes is camaraderie, honest.
The first camp didn’t go without its hiccups though, with adverse weather conditions, broken van gearboxes and some early-season injuries, some serious enough to require surgery. But adversity breeds toughness, and the tough succeed.
As school begins for 2025, the headmaster, Jack Reading still proves he has to keep the top spot on the leaderboard, but the young guys are really nipping at his heels this year. The up in speed for all involved is visible from the year prior and the new recruits are already firing on all cylinders and already packed into a tight window of race times.
With so much potential and all the right tools on offer to help them succeed, it’s going to be an exciting year for all involved in the team. As we go further into the season, episodes will delve into each of the riders and uncover their individual stories and the personal challenges they face. No two stories are the same.
We’re beyond stoked to support the Gravity School Racing program for another year and simply can’t wait to see the team flying aboard their Yallas and the stories that unfold as the season progresses. Long live downhill racing.
